If depression is keeping you from living the life that you want, we can help. Depression, by its nature, can make you want to isolate yourself, to remain stagnant, to do anything other than reach out for help. Everyone feels down from time to time, but if your depression doesn’t go away, if it lasts and has taken a negative toll on your job, on your schooling, on your relationships, on your day-to-day life, we can create a personalized treatment plan to help you.
We offer evidence-based psychotherapy at Sal Psychiatry, yes. That said, we also offer effective telehealth options, too. If you’re in the grip of depression, if you’re really struggling with it, coming to our facility may not be feasible. Moreover, it may be difficult to fit into your busy schedule. Through telehealth, you can still get help, and you can still receive a personalized treatment plan for your needs. With this, you can go through therapy where you feel most comfortable, whether that’s in your living room, elsewhere in your home, or anywhere else. There’s nothing “lesser” about telehealth, and you only need a minimum of electronics to be able to receive effective treatment.
Therapy has been proven to help those with bipolar disorder. In one-on-one sessions with an experienced therapist here at Sal Psychiatry, we’ll work not just on the symptoms of your bipolar disorder, but on the underlying causes. Through these sessions, we’ll help you change how you view a particular situation as well as to change how you react to the situation as well. That way, you can develop the adaptive thinking skills that will enable you to be able to better manage being bipolar moving forward.
Many who struggle with depression may also struggle with other disorders or even addictions. We offer what’s called “dual diagnosis” treatment, which treats mental health struggles as well as addiction simultaneously so that progress made on one does not exacerbate the other. Another personalized form of treatment we offer: medication management. So many dealing with depression are on multiple forms of medication. With this treatment, our clinical staff will determine which medications are right for you at what time, so that the side effects of a medication do not worsen your depression or anything else.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a noninvasive, safe treatment for depression. A specialized machine transmits magnetic waves to the parts of your brain that are connected to depression. Through this treatment, you can experience relief from even treatment-resistant depression. Throughout this entire process, you’ll be guided and monitored by an experienced technician. They’ll make sure to modify your treatment to your exact needs, all while making sure that you are as comfortable as can be. While this is seen as a “cutting-edge” treatment, the truth is that the FDA approved it in 2008. If other treatments haven’t worked, TMS very well may be able to.
Another depression treatment that can provide fast, effective relief when other methods, such as antidepressants and therapy haven’t worked, is SPRAVATO. A safe, FDA-approved treatment, this esketamine nasal inhalant can treat even Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). This is a powerful depression treatment. It can provide relief quickly, yet to see the full benefit, multiple sessions (and a personalized treatment plan) are recommended. While the side effects can be strong, a medical professional from Sal Psychiatry will be by your side every step of the way. Once they pass (roughly in two hours or so) you may experience real relief from even the toughest depression.
When you’re dealing with depression, you may feel that no treatment can work, that nothing can help you, and that all you can do is to be depressed. That’s not true. You can be you again. You can get help and live how you want. To see how we can help your depression, reach out to us through our site or give us a call.
